Fannish stuff has always been and will continue to be public. Icons can be found at [info]interruptedicon. Personal stuff is friends-only. Comment to be added.

If you're looking for my fanfic, it can all be found under the tag "fic," further broken down by fandom (fic: fandom), then pairing (fandom: character a/character b), all in tags.

If you hate tags, try my website at Meinterrupted.com. It's not always up to date, but it's usually pretty close.

Remix pinch hit!

The past two years I haven't signed up for Remix/Redux, because, quite frankly, I haven't written much new (besides remixes, where aren't eligible). Besides that, I only qualify in XMM, most of which is old and awful, and Firefly, which is mostly River/Jayne-centric, and I would hate to inflict that upon a possible Remix-er. I need to make a point to write at least three more Narnia stories, so I can qualify for that, if I want to sign up next year. However, I do get to write this year, because I've already got a pinch-hit! I'm pretty excited, and will likely be poking you all for a beta soonish.

Life has been keeping both busy and without much to talk about. Yes, I'm still alive, thought it may seem like I'm not. Mostly all I do is work, work, work, then go out and have a few drinks. This week, it's been HOOOOTT out, and I've spent some mornings at the pool. LOVELY. I'm getting a nice tan, without the usual "fry like bacon" stage that I usually go through. Unfortunately, my freckles also decide to pop up in scary numbers when I tan; I've decided that with proper clothes and makeup, I could easily pass for a high-schooler, despite being 25.

Anyway, yes, I'm alive, and no, I probably won't be posting much more anytime soon. Bah.

Inspired very much by [info]twinsfan33, I made several baseball icons this morning. All but one are Cardinals players, from yesterday's game vs. the Mets. One is Carlos Zambrano looking annoyed with his bad pitching. ^_^

Total Icon Count: 18

Teasers:

TEASER! Icon 001 TEASER! Icon 007 TEASER! Icon 012

Icons Here! )

Credit is very nice; so are comments. I'm not going to hunt you down if you don't do one or the other; I didn't put that much work into them. All photos are from Yahoo! Sports and stltoday.com. If you'd like any of these icons customized, please just ask. I have all the PSD files still. :)

My almost not-still-a-kitten Jameson loves to sit on my lap while I'm at the computer. This is just fine. She usually climbs up my leg to do so. This is also fine, provided I am wearing pants at the time.

I am not wearing pants this morning. Kitty claws + skin = blood.

Damn it.

So, I went to work out this morning, and the very first song they played? "Never Gonna Give You Up," but arobicized. The internet is FOLLOWING ME OMG!!!

Also, since I started working out the beginning of March, I've lost five pounds! *bounce* If I keep this up, I'll be at my goal weight by August! *bounce*

I has a garden!!!

stand up

Well, not yet. But soon. I have a bunch of seeds started in a little indoor greenhouse, so that in a couple weeks I can plant a bunch of seedlings. All but the herbs, I ordered from Baker Creek Heirloom Seeds, including seven(!!) varieties of peppers and three types of tomatoes.

I'm very excited. I really love having fresh vegetables in the summer, and gardening is cathartic. I don't really have a good yard for gardening, so they're all going in pots on the patio, but that actually will probably be better. :D :D

Is it summer yet?

I always forget how much I really truly love this flippin' show. It's always in the back of my mind, how great it is, etc., etc., but then I'll not watch it for a while, and I forget.

GAH! I do very much love this show!!!

iPhone or not?

SOOO many things have happened lately. Took a weekend trip to Las Vegas; lost $150 in roulette (over the weekend, not all at once!) and drank a lot. Worked Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights of the IHSA Wrestling Finals; somehow survived and made lots of money. Ordered $40 worth of heirloom seeds for my container garden; still wondering how I'm going to get everything I want on my patio, even as large as it is. These posts are forthcoming.

BUT! That is not the real reason for this post. My question concerns cell phones, and more specifically, the iPhone.

Currently, I have Verizon Wireless. My contract is up in June, but my New Every Two is valid now. I pay ~$65-$70/mo for 450 minutes, plus 500 text messages. ($40/mo +$10 for texts, plus whatever extra for data, downloads, and taxes/surcharges/fees.) I rarely get close on the minutes, but definitely need the texts. Now, I can get a new phone, a nice phone, like the LG Dare or the Blackberry Storm, for less than $100, and keep my current plan. (Possibly; I'm looking into whether or not getting a smartphone would necessitate changing to a different plan.)

If I want the iPhone, I have to wait until June, which is no big deal since my current phone is doing wonderfully. However, the phone would be $199 or $299, and the plan would be significantly more money each month. The minimum plan (which is enough for me) is $70/mo, plus $15/mo for texts, plus the extra $15 for various taxes, fees, and surcharges they add. That's a minimum of $100/mo for my cell phone bill.

So, for those of you that have AT&T and/or the iPhone: is it worth the extra money? Or should I just get one of Verizon's analogous phones?

Finally, 20 days into 2009, I got some writing done for [info]getyourwordsout. Argh! It was like pulling teeth the first week, so, I, well... I didn't write. At all. For about 2 weeks. And now, starting yesterday and going in to today, I've got so many words and not enough fingers! Sweeeet.

Also, Inauguration Day y/y? SO EXCITED!!!

So, I'm trying to write this story, right? But I need some help. If you have five minutes, do me a favor, would you? Just give me a murder victim, a murderer, and a motive. Because my brain keeps trying to make a stranger to do it, and that's just not going to work right now.

I love you muchly!!! :D

I've been on LJ for 6 years. WOW. That's crazy.

This entry has no other purpose. I've been unable to actually post on my LJ-versary for the past 6 years, because, well, I kept forgetting. But, look, cool!

I'm old. *g*

YES WE CAN HAS, Obama '08
Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich taken into custody
Charges claim Illinois Governor Blagojevich sought to sell Obama's Senate seat

Finally, dude. The guy's a total shade-miester. Why can't Illinois get a governor that's NOT a lying, stealing, jackass? First Ryan, now Blago-bitch? Jeez. And really, selling a Senate seat? I thought that went out of fashion with prohibition.

I'll admit, I voted for him, because as a state university student, I mistakenly thought that a Democratic candidate would support the public education system better than a Republican candidate. Boy, was I wrong! During my four years (and a half), I saw more and more buildings practically falling down around students, and class sizes getting bigger and bigger, all because we just didn't have the money, even though tuition kept going up and up and up. So, I say, let him fry.

I'm at just under 40k. This is better than yesterday (which I started with 30k) but not quite done.

I'm tired and about ready to take a break. That's probably a bad idea. :P

Also... Adopt one today! ... Adopt one today!

Since my last hatchling died, thanks to me avoiding my computer for a week, I got two new ones. No need to click, really, I just need some more unique views so they don't get sick.

Nano is on track. I'm very happy with my output, although the fact that I am completely unable to write any meaningful amount of words in my house is kind of annoying. Luckily, the library is less than ten blocks away, and I can write there. :D Didn't get any writing done today, as I was distracted by football and napping. There will be MAD MAD MAD shit talked this week, thankyouverymuch. M will be wearing her new hat. :D :D :D

Also, clicky my dragon? S/he's about to hatch! Adopt one today!

*bounces* I officially hit the half-way point on my NaNovel, and it's only the 14th! *bounces like Tigger on crack* Of course, I probably won't be able to write tomorrow or much on Sunday; unlike most people doing NaNo, my weekends are the busiest, least writable times. But this is the farthest I've gotten on any Nano so far, and I still have more story to tell! I'm freaking excited like you wouldn't believe. :D :D :D

My NaNo is eating my brain, really. I'm shaky, man! ^_^

I'm off to go get lunch and type, since there seems to be no way I can write at home. I need to get to about my Saturday word count before the end of the week, so I'm going to try to get ~2000 words today.

Also, procrastination yay! I have a dragon, now: Adopt one today!
